2026 Board Member Service Awards

NDSBA honors board members for their years of service in three categories. The recipients of these awards will be recognized during the 2026 Annual Convention. We are counting on you to let us know who qualifies and should receive these awards, so please read the Qualifications & Nomination Procedures and Summary & Submission Procedures below and send the applicable paperwork by the deadline indicated for each one. This award honors North Dakota's longest-serving school board members. There are two ways in which a board member qualifies: Steadfast Commitment (20 cumulative years of service) and Profound Impact (15 cumulative years of service). Submission deadline: July 31, 2026

Service Award  |  Summary & Submission Procedures  |  Service Award Form

Using a point system, NDSBA recognizes board members for their professional development and service on two levels: Veteran Board Member (100 points) and Master Board Member (200 points). Submission deadline: September 11, 2026.

The Barb Norby Scholarship  |  Summary & Submission Procedures

This award was created in tribute to Barb's valuable service to the association and honors a board member who has demonstrated exceptional board service and commitment to their district. Submission deadline: September 11, 2026.

Registration will open on Tuesday, June 2, 2026. 

We will take registrations until Friday, September 11, 2026, or until space is filled. We accept credit cards and check payments. No refunds will be issued if you cancel after September 11, unless NDSBA deems it necessary to significantly change or cancel the event.

NEW THIS YEAR! 

We are extending the exhibitor show time to include all of Thursday, the social on Thursday evening, and Friday through lunchtime. We're also adding more time to the convention schedule for attendees to visit with you during meals and breaks. You will have the option of setting up Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning.

This premier event brings together nearly 600 school board members, administrators, business managers, and human resource professionals from across the state to explore innovative solutions, share best practices, and strengthen leadership in education.
